Our History

In 1926 Alfred Burrows, a local benefactor, conveyed the Tiverton Road site to the people of Cullompton to be used in perpetuity for allotments for local people, overseen by the Parish and subsequently the Town Council. In the 1970’s the ‘Gift of A. Burrow for Allotments’ was registered as a Charity and the Town Council are the Trustees, with a nominated council sub committee managing the Tiverton Road Allotments.

Cullompton Allotment Association

We have existed for over twenty years and were formed to represent our members on this unique site. We are a democratic, constituted organisation which has worked hard to bring the community together.

We send out regular email updates and all members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting every year in November, and stand for the committee if they wish to have more input.

Our Allotment Association is also affiliated to the National Allotment Society which provides us with further resources at a national level as well as a quarterly Allotment magazine available on site for all member to read. Membership is open to all plot holders on the Tiverton Road Allotment Site. Membership currently costs just £7 a year.
